Examples of pretentious writing? Lots. :-) Kant comes to mind.

Examples of negative re-enforcement? Every time I start snoring my wife gives me a good shove. Oh, wait, that's punishment. :-)

Another example of people using a term wrong is "beg the question" which is actually circular reasoning, where you are assuming what you are trying to prove. It's usually used in the sense that something implies a question or neccessitates a question. right?
