Text insets are one of Frames most powerful features, and one which (along
with conditional text and variables) allows efficient repurposing of content
across multiple document sets. While insets may seem quirky at times, the
problems typically arise from user error and poorly executed work flows.

If you've just started using text insets, I'd suggest you don't give up on
the concept. Just hit the manuals a little harder.
