My point is that it's not worth stressing over. Stress over the real content. Who cares if company XYZ went out of business or was swallowed by ABC ten years ago? The point is that I *did* something there that is pertinent to this job.

More importantly, especially if you've been doing mostly short-term contracts with various contracting firms, it becomes a huge job just trying to keep up with all those histories. I'll make a reasonable attempt to keep up-to-date, but I can't account for every change - especially if I'm no longer in the same city and not in contact with people at that company.

These things will wash out in the application process, so I'm not going to stress over it.
