I had to laugh when I saw the message that writing is writing and all it
takes is to sit there and pound out the documentation.
Marcom that anyone can write is what many people see as the smarmy hard sell
content that everyone on the list hates.
OTOH, marcom by someone who knows what they are doing is the stuff that
nobody realizes is marketing writing, but for some reason, they have an urge
to purchase the product.

Subject: RE: Description of Tech Writers
I'm GLAD so many tech writers have such a dim view of marcomm - that means
there's more work for ME.
And it's also lots of fun to watch one of those TW snobs who assumes
marcomm is easy the first time they try to describe not only a product's
features, but the *benefit* of those features. Instant writer's block.
Seen it time and again.
