Through this list, I have found that standard ratios range from 1:5 to 1:10.
My department currently has a ratio of 1:11 which doesn't cut it. Here are
other factors to consider when determining which ratio is right for your
company:
- Experience level of current staff.
- Whether you need to catch up with development efforts (For example, they
have released software without documentation.)
- Whether development uses RAD (rapid application development)

These are good numbers and factors to share with management making decisions
about how many people you need to hire in your department.

Ideally they would be from individual organisations or particular industry
