The Universe was born. No reference, refered or otherwise to life. The word
child is legitimately used for inanimate objects and constructs. Many inanimate
things come to life without any sexual intercourse, human or otherwise.

Sure. But 'child', whether used literally or metaphorically, always implies 'parent'. And, according to the currently accepted scientific theories, that is precisely what the universe is missing.*

So, IMHO, Bonnie's wondering how the writer arrived at the term 'love-child' is entirely justified, and her theory seems to me quite plausible.

Regards
Jan Henning

* Or, to be more precise, there are absolutely no signs of an entitiy that could be considered a parent of the universe.
