Actually, I also looked at the metadata source:

<rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf=''

<rdf:Description about=''
<pdf:Producer>Acrobat Distiller 5.0.5 (Windows)</pdf:Producer>
<pdf:Author>my author</pdf:Author>
<pdf:Creator>Acrobat PDFMaker 5.0 for Word</pdf:Creator>
<pdf:Subject>my subject</pdf:Subject>
<pdf:Keywords>my keyword 1, my keyword 2</pdf:Keywords>

<rdf:Description about=''
<xap:Author>my author</xap:Author>
<rdf:li xml:lang='x-default'>my title</rdf:li>
<rdf:li xml:lang='x-default'>my subject</rdf:li>

<rdf:Description about=''
<dc:creator>my author</dc:creator>
<dc:title>my title</dc:title>
<dc:description>my subject</dc:description>

I also checked the source text of the PDF:

1 0 obj
/Producer (?÷puùi+??´??þv¥S?2½Bý¯µt»³ÿ#?Ý\(v)
/Author (·ávrôz)
/Creator (?÷puùi+?¼?«?ù²?\)£Rµõç|»µã#)
/Subject (¥á`pþk+)
/ModDate (?®0*«;o?`ÈößØ¥+ù ?1´Bã½)
/Keywords (½ñ{môz;?bÔç??ëm¯SÆ'¡)
/Title (¢ývvþ)
/CreationDate (?®0*«;o?`ÈößØ¥+÷ ?0´Bã½)

Word provided some of these fields, Acrobat provided others. Of the ones I specified, only the title, author, subject, and keywords were transferred to the PDF file.

If there are others, they're really well concealed. There's no other mention of metadata in Acrobat's UI or in the help.

They don't appear to be in the physical file either, and I enabled every metadata-related option I could find in Distiller and PDFMaker.

Let me know if I've missed anything.
