I'm sure the Japanese, among others, would be surprised at the notion that apology
or courtesy for that matter were peculiarly Midwestern USA values.

And *I* STILL think the world would be a better place if we occasionally apologized
for our goofs, regardless of whether or not Microsoft does so.
