Who knows? Perhaps you have competition with one other person, who is liked by the other Production Manager. Bruce is right, companies are being much more cautious.

Meanwhile, pay attention to the interview process. My experience is that the interview process is an excellent preview of the job. Can you live with Indecision, being bounced between production managers.. maybe being told that a deadline is final, and then getting an extension, and an extension and an extension...
