I'm with Goober on this one. A lot of what Nielsen's users are complaining
about reflects limitations on the part of the user, not the product. One
case in point: complaints about "jumping" from page to page in pdf mean that
the user doesn't know that you can select smooth scrolling just by clicking
the small icon at the bottom of the page and selecting that option. Of
course, Nielsen would argue that they shouldn't have to know that much about
how to use the pdf in the first place, but I'd file most of his complaints
under "User Brain Damage."

PDF does have its faults, but for my money, he's not addressing them, just
picking easy and fairly bogus targets.
