The words 'boring' and 'dull' feature heavily in their
response, so what I really want to know is 'is
technical writing boring??'.


It's the least boring profession I can imagine. [Forget I said that. If we convince the competition that technical writing is boring, those of us who love the profession may have an easier time finding jobs.]
