Then the tests were narrowly targeted, and while they wouldn't have been my
chosen method of evaluating a candidate, at least tested skills specific to the
assignment. It is possible that the company Michelle is talking to has done the
same, and is just doing a poor job of explaining the purpose of their tests, but
if that's the case, then they need some writing assistance in the HR/recruiting
areas as well as their product documentation.
