I would most definitely agree with this, and would add two point:

-Due to the entirely subjective nature of humor, something that seems
clever to you could seem offensive to someone else.

-You could come off looking like a smart-aleck, or like someone who was
more interested in clowning around than getting the job done.

The reason resumes need to be devoid of humor is that
very often the people who read them and make hiring
decisions are as well. Not having a job when you need
one can be a very unhumorous experience. OTOH, if you
can afford to be particular...
