I don't contract anymore, but when I did...

Plain and simple, when contracting, you need to work in the way that
best gets the job done within the good graces of the company that's
bringing you in. Sometimes I got to work from home with minimal site
visits (as the work allowed), and other times I was camped at the
client site for months on end.
