Now this reminds me of what always seems to happen to me. When the
deadline looms and I'm behind, I start burning rubber to catch up -- and
I always say to myself, "Now if you'd work like this at the BEGINNING of
the project, you wouldn't be in this position." But I never seem to be
able to do that.

I've attributed that frustrated feeling when I'm stymied on a project to
a
lack of adrenalin. When I'm hustling to meet a deadline, the stress is
high, adrenalin flows, and time flies. Then when it's over, there's the
warm rush of endorphins rewarding a job well done. Ahhhhhh, technical
writing!

Or it could be too much/too little caffeine. Check your dosage.
