We have a highly customized setup of MOSS 2007. It uses 1 and 1/2 FTE Sys
Admins to manage and sustain the 9 servers, work on the special requests,
and work the trouble tickets. Content mgt for 300 users takes me about 4-6
hrs per day. This includes granting permissions to specific pages, folders,
libraries, and documents which alone averages an hour a day just managing
access.
Of course, it's government, so containerized security is big. In the last 6
months, I've migrated from a full-time TW to a less than half time TW and
mostly SharePoint content mgt. I generally create new or modify existing 5-6
sites or spaces a day and do a daily report extract and format, plus helping
users with specific problems.
