Thanks for the info., Rick. I don't use callouts or highlights and I
don't rescale, so I can't speak to HyperSnap's capabilities. While I
don't use any torn edge effect, such stamps are available in HyperSnap.
Don't know about RSC.

Regards,
Roger

Hi Roger

SnagIt makes some of the editing tasks super easy. Keep in mind that I'm
comparing to RoboScreenCapture (RSC), so HyperSnap may well do some of
the things easily that I've noticed are either outright impossible to
achieve, or very difficult.

Want to add a callout to your capture? Click the callout icon and add
it. With RSC, you had better have the text positioned exactly where you
want it, as it isn't added in another layer. With SnagIt, you add the
callout and can move it around and adjust the callout pointer. Same goes
with highlight shapes like arrows or circles or other outlines.
Highlights seem to be limited to four colors with RSC

This next feature falls more into the category that some will view as
pure fluff, but that little SnagIt torn edge effect is like crack to me.

I love it. I think it's great because it allows me to illustrate (quite
easily) that I'm calling focus to one corner of a much larger dialog.
More exists, but we are looking here in this area.

With SnagIt, if you rescale the image, I find the results more pleasing
to the eye than rescaling using RSC. So the algorithm used must be
different for each app.

Now here is an area where RSC has a definite advantage over SnagIt.
Touching up images. Using tools like Microsoft Paint offers to touch up,
remove portions, stuff like that.

Cheers... Rick :)
