Thanks, Kathleen. I have a SME for whom it will take some convincing, but
some good examples are helping.

A thought/question: When describing the state of a relay as being
energized, is the term "is energized" accurate? Or do I need to say "is in the
energized state"?

It not only makes it active, it's more informative than the passive
