I think a small number of awards on a resume can be useful, especially if you can point to objective reasons why you deserved the award ("This manual won an award because it used screen captures effectively"). If someone gives you an award that's demonstrably based on merit, and it's *free*, why not?
On the other hand, as I said, in this case the price seems pretty steep.
