InDesign is not a useful route from PM to FM. You might look into Acrobat X;
it's got better PDF editing abilities than earlier versions. For small
tweaks it might suit your immediate needs.

For the longer-term goal, design a new blank FrameMaker template file, save
it, and in a copy, select, copy, and paste from either PDF or PM
into FrameMaker. This will give you feedback at every paste on how the
conversion is going. If tables have any merged cells, table conversion will
probably need lots of attention.

You might want to search Google for design-oriented forums that might have
some participants who have working installations of PM, and who could
convert your files to RTF, for importing into FM.

Thanks for the tips! Much appreciated. Does anyone know whether InDesign
will convert to some format that FM8 can open and produce some semblance of
the original?
