Nice of Dave to tell us uuencode/uudecode exists for most platforms, but
there's also the question of where to get it...

If you're using an IBM-compatible: anonymous ftp to OAK.Oakland.Edu
(141.210.10.117) and look in /pub/msdos/txtutl or maybe /pub/msdos/uucp. In
all directories under /pub/msdos the file 00-index.txt, which usually
appears at the top, contains an up-to-date index of that directory's
contents. You can simply:

ftp>get 00-index.txt

-OR-

ftp>get 00-index.txt /dev/tty

...if your FTP access point is a Unix system. This last retreives the
textfile to your screen rather than a file; cool if you're in a hurry, and
have the ability to scroll back through screen output.

If you're using a Macintosh: same site, try the directories under
/pub2/macintosh. I'm not sure, but I think the 00-index.txt thing applies in
these file areas as well.

Are you uuencoding for the binary -> ASCII conversion? It's a great way
to send binary info via email.

uuencoders are available on most platforms/OS these days.
