First annual

I'm not picking on PatO' here (well, maybe I am...just a little) but does
it bug anybody else when you see "first annual." If it's the first, how
can it be an annual event? Just because you're planning on doing it again
in a year, is that cause enough to call it the "first annual"?

Just curious.
