Hello Colleagues:

This message crossed my desk today and I thought I'd put it out on
the network. A letter was sent to the Dean of our School of Business
asking for assistance in UCLA's search for a senior faculty member
in their Japanese Management Studies. Below is the blurb. Please
address all inquiries to the address below - I know nothing further
about this position:

THE ANDERSON GRADUATE SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT and
THE INTERNATIONAL STUDIES AND OVERSEAS PROGRAMS
at the University of California, Los Angeles
ANNOUNCE A NEW POSITION FOR JAPAN MANAGEMENT STUDIES

The Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA has received funding
from the University's Office of International Studies and Overseas
Programs (ISOP) to appoint a senior faculty member to the field of
Japanese Management Studies beginning in July 1995. The ideal
candidate for the position is a senior scholar with a proven record
of research in some aspect of Japanese business practices or in
issues related to the economic realtionship between the United
States and Japan. This appointment offers a tenured position, at
either the Associate or Full Professor level, depending upon
qualifications. A tenure track appointment at a more junior level
would also be considered.

The successful candidate would be expected to lead the School's
research, teaching and programmatic efforts with regards to Japan.
Preference will be given to candidates who show a strog research
program, including field research, in Japan and who can complement
existing activities conducted under the auspices of AGSM's Center
for International Business Education and Research and ISOP's
university-wide Center for Japanese Studies. Teaching would
include courses or seminars in the regular and executive MBA
programs and doctoral program. There are also opportunities to
work with international executives through the School's
executive programs.

Los Angeles offers a unique environment for the study of Japanese
and East Asian business. Over 700 Japanese companies are established
in the region and Southern California is the main gateway for
US trade with Japan. UCLA has extensive library and data holdings
and an active research community dealing with Japan.

Any interested parties should send a copy of their curriculum
vitae and the name of three academic references at the earliest
convenience to:

Professor Jose de la Torre
Chair, Search Committee
Anderson Graduate School of Management
UCLA
405 Hilgard Avenue
Los Angeles, CA 90024-1481

UCLA is an equal opportunity employer. U.S. citizenship or
eligibility for U.S. employment is required.
