A correction.
To update a linked field that is locked at the source, you can't
place your cursor in the middle of the field to update it.
But you can update the field if you place the cursor at the
front of the field. (You still get an error beep that signifying
that a field hasn't been updated. But I'm not sure what field
that is --- maybe the locked field in your source?
