Subject: TW openings at IBM in Rochester, MN

Currently, IBM Corporation in Rochester, Minnesota has
immediate openings for technical writers. The following is
the job description and skills requirement:

JOB DESCRIPTION
Technical writers are needed for the AS/400 Information
development area. Potential responsibilities include:

o Creating and updating technical information for the
AS/400 and associated software products
o Interacting with the development community and writing
team to document and test installation, configuration,
usage, and technical marketing information
o Creating and updating online information including online
help for PC operating systems such as Windows 3.1,
Windows 95,and OS/2 and for IBM's OS/400 operating system.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS
A strong understanding of a technical field, technical
writing, and PC skills is required. Knowledge of AS/400
systems is helpful. Special interest in areas such as client
server, networking, database, and multimedia is preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills are a key
requirement.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Combination of technical communications and computer
science, engineering, or mathematics degrees or equivalent
experience.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Experience in all skill areas or a combination of the
technical communications degree and one of the technical
degrees listed above.
