Was it just a slip of the pen, or perhaps wishful thinking, that
caused you to write "free use" when the correct phrase is "fair
use"? What's fair isn't always free, y'know. :-)

The header bore Bill Sullivan's name; the sig was Tracy Boyington's.
The whole gray issue of copyright on the Internet becomes even
grayer when, thanks to the wonders of technology, authorship is
so hard to establish.
