Ack! Using a plural pronoun for a singular antecedent??? Don't your
editors have a fit? Use "you" or non-gender-specific words like
"operator," "user," and so on. You can also rewrite the sentence so a
plural pronoun is correct--but sometimes that takes a lot of time.
