Even more unfortunately, I couldn't find it again. But, I found
something even better: the CD publishing FAQ. This is a sensational
resource. If it doesn't answer every conceivable question you have
about reading, labelling and publishing data on CD, you need to get
out of the house more. To quote from the introduction:

. . .The HTML form of this FAQ is available from the CD Information
Center: http://www.cd-info.com/CDIC/Technology/CD-R/FAQ.html

The text version of this FAQ is available from:
ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet-by-group/comp.publish.cdrom.hardware/

(If you) want to check out the newsgroups (which have maintained a
moderate signal-to-noise ratio), see:

comp.publish.cdrom.hardware
comp.publish.cdrom.software
comp.publish.cdrom.multimedia
