Your concern is well-placed, I think. I would not include a piece in my
portfolio if I didn't consider it perfect in every way. It is usually too
much to ask others to overlook (what might be considered) faults to get to
(what might be considered) gifts. In a job interview, everything counts.

As for how to resolve the problem itself, you may have better luck changing
page size rather than fudging leading (at least that's what I found when I
printed my resume using a printer different from what I used during
creation). You may also find you can rewrite some earlier paragraphs to
recover a line's worth of space. In any case, I counsel against including
the sample in your portfolio until you have resolved the problem.
