Um, that (below) looks like a fairly blatant rip-off. Shouldn't it have
been attributed?

It's been many decades since I encountered that essay in
a grade-school textbook, but I'll swear it was very old, even
then, having been written by [perhaps] Twain or Leacock.

Anybody remember?
