I live in So Cal, and there are opportunities here, but you'd hardly want to
leave the "fast pace" of Atlanta hoping for a quieter life here.

Besides, there are more opportunities in Southern California just because
the place is so *big*. The job market of LA/Orange County is about 100
miles wide, so if you want a lot of opportunities, you have to be willing to
drive.
