Hello everyone,
I am trying to decide whether to purchase Doc to Help or RoboHelp for a
online help project. I'm using a single source (MS Word Doc) and in the
past I've used Doc to Help. I have a couple of questions for those of you
who've used these applications recently.
RoboHelp: I tried using the Word import feature in the demo version and I
had unsatisfactory results. The feature did not convert my heading styles
to separate topics. I used my own template, so that could be the problem.
Has anyone had any success with this feature or does it not really work as
advertised?
Doc To Help: I've used Doc To Help in the past and have been sorely
disappointed with their technical support and user's manual (this was back
in 1996). It also was a pain to perform the first conversion (subsequent
ones were much better). Has anyone used Doc To Help recently --how is
technical support (I know WexTech sold it to ComponentOne recently) -- and
more importantly, was it still a real pain to perform that first conversion?
By the way -- I don't want to start a discussion about single sourcing vs.
maintaining separate docs. I'm familiar with the pros and cons; I would
just like you recent real experiences with the two products. Thanks!
Chantel
