Gene,

It occurred to me that many companies lost their financial portfolios,
assets, expenditures, etc. from Katrina and Rita alike, and thousands
of individuals lost their financial records as well.

Small businesses getting back on their feet and larger companies would
need tech writers and documentation specialists to cover all of their
procedures, processes, and funding in order to maintain compliance
with SOX, and to present something to the courts in case of
bankruptcy. Remember, the new laws require massive amounts of
financial records, much of which has been lost. People with experience
in financial or business writing (which many tech writers do have)
will be needed to rebuild a company's paper trail.

I might be totally off the reservation on that, but it seems to make sense.

Martin
