I knew some Coast Guard members that were stationed at Kodiak Island, AK, and had friends who fished the Gulf of Alaska and crabbed the Bering Sea. Pretty serious water. The life expectancy is five minutes without a survival suit if you go in. (The survival suit gives you a couple of extra hours.)
