In the software business, here in the San Francisco Bay area, there
are a lot more openings and I've been getting a lot more interviews
than there were the last time I was looking for work, five years ago.

On the other hand, I'm pretty sure there are more qualified applicants
as well. Two jobs I think I had a good shot at were filled by
applicants who'd been doing the same thing at direct competitors.
