When I bought my home PC, Windows 7 was already out, and the standard PCs had it preinstalled. But Microcenter had a deal where for the same price, you could get one with Windows XP installed and an included update disc for Windows 7. Guess it's time to open the shrink wrap...

The problem is, it's easy to say the solution is to upgrade, but what if your hardware is just too old for Windows 8? Upgrading from XP to 7 ate gobs of space on my office machine. I would think that might kill an older laptop. My laptop is an older XP. I'm saving my pennies for another laptop, but that's taking time, especially since I'm paying much larger heating bills due to the frigid winter.
