I remember landing a job in 1993 at a company where you were allowed to wear a non-white shirt (and tie) on casual Friday.

That company no longer exists.

In Vermont where I live formal wear is considered a recently washed flannel shirt ... But yeah, I think dress standards have relaxed everywhere over the last 20 years.
