Last year, my wife telecommuted to her job at Glaxo (now Glaxo Wellcome).
She didn't have to worry much about being out of the loop, however. I was
her supservisor and I kept her very informed. ;-) It was a strange setup:
we were both contractors, but I was authorized by Glaxo to hire her into
my group. (She got bored after about a year and quit.)

In general, being out of the loop is the biggest problem for someone working
from home. The other is obesity. ;-) It's hard to stay away from
the damned refrigerator.

When last my wife and I were independent contractors, we formed a corporation
and rented a nice office suite. We hired employees...and we bought a
refrigerator for the office. So much for avoiding *that* problem.
